User Experience Lead

We are currently recruiting for a User Experience (UX) Lead.  The UX Lead plays a key role in the lifecycle of every project, working alongside business analysts, technical staff, and visual designers to identify requirements, study users, and craft experiences that translate business and user needs into informed, highly engaging sites and products.

The UX Lead is an experienced, versatile, client-facing position with ample opportunity to shape and communicate user experience strategy and design, often serving as team lead responsible for translating the overall experience vision into implementation-ready design.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct stakeholder and user interviews
  • Lead Customer Journey Mapping sessions 
  • Collect and document business and design requirements
  • Plan, conduct, and/or participate in user research
  • Create user and behavior models, including personas and scenarios
  • Conduct competitive and/or heuristic analyses
  • Contribute to or define user experience strategy
  • Architect effective design solutions that meet business and user needs
  • Freely ideate and conceptualize via sketches, concept models, etc.
  • Create annotated wireframes and functional/interaction specifications
  • Identify and communicate design tradeoffs and alternatives, as needed
  • Present findings, design concepts, and rationale to clients
  • Plan and facilitate client workshops and team meetings
  • Interact and collaborate across internal disciplines
  • Work within established processes for design, development, and review
  • Contribute to defining and improving quality standards and methods
  • Content strategy and/or content development for the web
  • Taxonomy development
  • Web application design
  • Multi-platform/multi-channel design
Demonstrates the following skills and behaviors:
  • Problem solving, resourcefulness, and forward thinking in IA and web design
  • Expertise with tools of the trade (e.g., OmniGraffle, Visio, or Axure)
  • Technical depth and understanding of the software development process
  • Expertise in designing for community engagement
  • Refined and compelling presentation skills in varied settings
  • Consultative nature with strong client relationship-building focus
  • Proficiency with simulation and prototyping tools (e.g., Axure, Fireworks CS4)
  • Experience in eCommerce, intranet, or enterprise-class applications
  • Experience with lab-based and/or guerilla usability testing
Required Knowledge and Experience:
  • BS or BA degree in recognized field
  • 5+ years’ experience in Information Architecture, Interaction Design, User Experience, or Customer Experience
