We are currently looking for an eager Associate Visual Designer to join our crew.
The Associate Visual Designer is responsible for collaborating with other Macquarium visual and interactive designers to create high-quality digital experiences. An understanding of typography, layout, animation, design standards and interactive design will be needed to help the team create the best work possible.
The specific details of a designer’s role will vary by project, but common activities include:
  • Offering input to creative meetings and sharing ideas
  • Produce outstanding visual design work that colleagues and clients love
  • Create apps, websites, advertising, and other digital experiential solutions
  • Be creative, be the source of novel and surprising visual ideas
  • Creation of visual design artifacts for both internal and external clients
  • Communicating with colleagues, both in sharing work and receiving feedback
  • Form positive and constructive relationships with colleagues
  • 1-2 years of experience with a Associate’s Degree, BFA or equivalent in Graphic Designer related craft. Equivalent experience will be considered as well.
  • A portfolio of work that demonstrates your skill, process, and taste for visual aesthetics.
  • Examples of work that demonstrate a level of comfort with digital and interactive media.
  • A diversity of creative interests beyond visual design such as video editing, photography, animation, storyboarding, programming, user experience, or other. Surprise us.
  • Some exposure to prototyping tools such as Invision or Adobe XD. Working knowledge of HTML/CSS is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch knowledge is a plus.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • A collaborative attitude, shared ownership of outcomes, and being receptive to feedback.
  • Eagerness to develop your craft through practice and staying up to date on new trends and tools.
